Since Christmas needs its own post, here is what else we did during the month of December
Parks had his 6 month check up... He gained back some weight.. enough that the doctor didn't think we needed to do any more weight checks. Yay for the 7th percentile! (although he is soooo chunky now! At this point he's 90% formula fed :( but at least he's gaining weight. I just wasn't making enough. It so weird how every kid is really just so different, I exclusively nursed Sawyer for 15 months and never had an issue and with Parks I had to supplement since month 3!
Sawyer has been a rock star at potty training! I'm so proud of her.. once she was ready it just was so easy!
We don't get snow here in Southern California... (except that we actually did get some about 30 min. away from our house, but that's another story..) so we get Surfin Sand Men instead :)
But that doesn't stop us from making it ourselves ;) We went to a tree lighting ceremony complete with a tiny fake snow hill.... good enough for me!
We also get the Harbor Christmas Boat Parade. Sawyer loved the light tunnel
We painted our very own "Anna" shirt, so we can still be Anna in public without looking too crazy, and if you knew how much this girl pretends, you'd know how big of a deal this is :)
We opened a few early Christmas gifts... one of her favorites being an "Olaf" shirt from her (great) Papa- (whose name is Olaf too)!
Lots of cuddles for this chilly December we had!
On a sad note... My sweet Bella.. she has not been in very good health as of late. We came to visit her a week or so before Christmas and she got so excited she had a seizure (or something). It was so scary... She has always hyperventilated whenever she gets too excited, but this time was too much. She just kinda spasmed then laid on the street on her back and wouldn't get up.... and it has happened twice since then. She is getting older and non uncommon with these teacup breeds that as they age their heart keeps growing even though their body has stopped, and it causes problems as they get older. (so the vet says) It's so hard to figure out what to do, since she is about 12 and their lifespan is 12-15 years, and a cardiologist is very expensive. Anyways, I had to get a pic of my kids with her before I didn't have the chance again :(
On a sweet note, Sawyer has been obsessed with being Mary and baby Jesus this month, especially after our Parks was the star of the Primary Nativity
Sweet Baby Jesus Parks... he did SOOO good! So happy he made it through the whole performance.
We went to Krispy Kreme for Sawyers' first time and she loved seeing the frosting waterfall and getting a very special Christmas Donut.
It was so yummy that we tried to replicate some at home! They were delicious!!! and I altered the recipe for Jordan to give him a taste of home with "honey dipped" ones... not the same, but got the job done. We will just have to go back to Canada for the good stuff I guess!
Jordan and Sawyer had a fort sleepover under the Christmas Tree. What a fun tradition to start the weekend before Christmas.
Wore some fun Christmas clothes...
Saw a movie and ran into a friend ;)
Had a tea party...
poor little brothers.... ;)
Parks got his 2 bottom teeth at JUST over 6 months old
Had some fun parties
Build a bedroom for Parks out of our bedroom hall closet
And did some fun Christmas crafts...
Such a fun December... I love Christmas Time, and all that comes with it. I tried really hard to make it fun for Sawyer as I said in my last post, she's really gotten into it. But every year I always think I could've done more. And even though we talked A LOT about Baby Jesus, and Mary, I am always disappointed in my spiritual attempts for the season. I didn't listen to enough spiritual Christmas songs, or watch enough spiritual Christmas movies... or read enough spiritual Christmas books, so like every year, I hope to do more next year, especially when it comes to the true meaning of season. Hope you all had a great Christmas!
